FELs of Europe poster prize at UFDIM 2024

The UFDIM (Ultrafast Dynamic Imaging of Matter) conference 2024, held at DESY in Hamburg (Germany) from 18-20 November 2024, on top of the currently upgraded FLASH, focused on new techniques for imaging the dynamics of matter on ultrafast timescales, from femtoseconds to attoseconds. We have organised sessions on the applications of ultrafast dynamic imaging in biological, chemical and material systems as well as sessions on electronic dynamics and emerging opportunities. A special focus was on the applications of new sources, including X-ray free-electron lasers, high-harmonic sources, few-cycle laser pulses, and ultrashort electron pulses.
FELs of Europe awarded poster prizes and an interdisciplinary committee headed by Dr. Elke Plönjes was selecting the best posters of the conference.
The award winning contributions were:
1. Gergana D. Borisova (Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik Heidelberg): “Imaging and control of ultrafast dynamics of correlated two-electron atomic and molecular systems”
2. Felix Allum (DESY Hamburg): “Ultrafast X-ray Diffractive Imaging of the Photoinduced Wolf Rearrangement”
3. Julius Huijts (Eindhoven University of Technology): “Ultracold Electrons for Molecular Movies of Protein Crystals”

Congratulations to all the awardees and all the best for your future research.
